Sound Elevation - Advanced Cryo Internal Fuses (5 pack)
- DescriptionUpgrade your internal fuses
Our listening tests have confirmed that internal fuses can have an effect on sound and picture quality. After testing a number of brands, We have settled on the one we found to be the best performing and best sounding of all internal fuse types.
The fuses have been further improved with our proprietary 2 stage Cryo process! The key part of this process is not the freezing of the components, but the very slow return to room temperature(over a 24hr period). The components are subjected to this closely monitored process, twice!
The internal fuses are fast blow type. They are sold in packs of five and are available in the following values:
250mA
500mA
1A
1.6A
2A
2.5A
3.15A
5A
6.3AmA = milliamps / A = Amps
The fuses are approximately 5mm in diameter and 20mm long. Please be aware that these are Type F (Fast blow) fuses. Check your original fuse before fitting these to ensure you are swapping a like for like fuse.
Installation:
EQUIPMENT MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE MAINS BEFORE REPLACING FUSES
Please be aware that these are Type F (Fast blow) fuses. Check your original fuse before fitting these. If your original fuse is a Type T, then do not use these fuses.
Only replace fuses on a 'like for like' basis i.e. if your equipment is fitted with a 2A fuse, you must replace it with a 2A fuse. Fitting a fuse of higher or lower value may cause inferior sound quality or present a safety issue.
Internal fuses are found in three places.
1. The first is inside the IEC socket and is accessible from the outside of the equipment. First, remove the mains cable and you will see the fuse holder - a small screwdriver is quite useful to pop out the holder, so you can replace the fuse.
Tip - The value of the fuse can be found on the fuse holder or in the manual.
2. The second place is a fuse holder mounted on the back panel. Again a small screwdriver is often useful to unscrew the holder. Please make sure the equipment is disconnected from the mains.
Tip - The value of the fuse is often printed on the back panel next to the fuse holder or in the manual.
3. The last area is inside the equipment which will involve taking off the lid. IMPORTANT THE EQUIPMENT MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE MAINS
Use an appropriate screwdriver to remove the screws holding the case to the chassis. The fuse in usually mounted before the transformer and usually mounted on the circuit board near the back of the IEC socket. Simply remove the fuse from its holder and replace.
Tip - The value of the fuse is usually printed on the circuit board.
